Payal  Majumdar, Ph.D.

Dr. Majumdar assists with prosecuting foreign and domestic patents in the electronics and telecommunications industries.   Her area of expertise includes applicative research in Wireless Communications, Metamaterials (MTMs), Optical Physics, Antenna Design, Microstrip Antennas, Computational Electromagnetics, Radio Frequency (RF), and Microwave Design.


Prior to joining Osha Bergman Watanabe & Burton (OBWB), Dr. Majumdar worked as a technical advisor in the Houston office of Conley Rose P.C. During her tenure, she worked on reviewing and drafting domestic and foreign patent applications for a leading Fortune 500 client in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Majumdar worked for three years as a foreign expert and post-doctorate research fellow in Kuang-Chi Institute of Advanced Technology in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China. As the corporate researcher, her area of expertise involved analysis, modeling, and design of Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) and MTM based microstructures to help develop new microwave components for communication and radar systems, analysis and modeling of propagation characteristics of single-layer and multi-layer planar and non-planar transmission lines, and hands-on experience in coding and simulation.

Dr. Majumdar has 13 years of research and publication experience (50+ publications in journals, conference proceedings and patents) in the field of radio frequency (RF), antennas and microwave design and technology using MTMs for modern and wireless communication systems.
