Mr. Monterrosa assists with drafting and prosecuting foreign and domestic patent applications in a variety of fields, including: telecommunications, consumer electronics, manufacturing, automotive, oilfield applications, optics technologies, and power distribution systems.
At Osha Bergman Watanabe & Burton (OBWB) , Mr. Monterrosa has worked writing briefs for submission before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB) in various AIA Trial Proceedings for the areas of Data Signal Processing (DSP) solutions, LTE/5G networking applications for mobile/smart phones, and camera and location systems for motor vehicles. Mr. Monterrosa has extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in Europe, India, China, Mexico, and Australia.
Prior to joining Osha Bergman Watanabe & Burton (OBWB) , Mr. Monterrosa worked as a Master Research Assistant at the Biophotonics and Microsystems Laboratory at the University of Florida’s Integrated Microsystems Group. His research areas included utilizing Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), and creating Doppler Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scans for adaptative in vivo cancer detection. He also worked in Information Technology (IT) research securing and improving network throughput in Data Centers. Outside of academia, his experience includes planning and managing power distribution solutions as a Design Engineer and developing and testing applications for the oil and gas industry as an Operations Engineer.
